Good but not great.

I am transitioning to “barefoot” shoes and bought these because they are the normal style of a shoe that I would wear. They are really cute and very lightweight. The color really is more of a light blue than a lavender, which I am very pleased with.

Heres the 411.
Pro’s:
Vibram soles
lightweight
stylish
easy on and off

Cons:
Without socks my toes catch on the fabric seam transition, have to keep the toenails very trimmed if I don’t wear socks.
Cold and get wet easy. More of a dry season shoe.
The straps rub and are a little rough at first, might get better as I break them in. Also they hurt if you tighten them to much. A lot of adjusting.

The bottom line:
I am glad I bought them but after buying the tennis shoes (merrell barefoot pace glove) I think that I would of been just as happy buying the tennis shoes alone. They are more versatile and comfortable.

Update July 2011. I am not really a fan of these shoes. They are the last ones I go for. I have been much happier with the Pace glove tennis shoe style. I can’t get over my toe nails catching on the seam.

Very comfortable shoe

As always, I got incredibly speedy delivery from Amazon of the item and was excited to try on these shoes. They were a perfect fit and comfortable right out of the box with NO socks on either. I wore them continuously from that point on, although I did purchase a lightweight shoe insert made to help with arch support. That made a nice difference.
The reason for my 4 star rating is this: by accidence I got an oil stain on the light blue fabric. I thought alright they are fabric and was told they could be washed so I immediately rubbed the stain with a pre-wash and then rubbed it with detergent. That didn’t work so I used a stain-out pen. After repeated washing the result was the black edging had bled into the blue fabric and now I have a worse stain which prohibits me from wearing them for good. My advice is to spray with a fabric protector before using as the shoes are definitely made of fabric and light blue does show dirt.

Very comfortable, very pretty, great for everyday use BUT runs very big!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and also very stylish. I did order the all black pair for myself which is definitely pretty enough to be wearing to work. Couldn’t be asking for more. I did have to subtract one star as they are not true to size. I am usually wearing a size 11 and that hasn’t changed in the past 10 years. The Merrel Pure Glove however does only fit me in a size 10!!!
I am glad that I did go to the store to try them on first before ordering them online. I tried the 11 as well as the 10,5 model which both ended up falling off of my feet.
I highly advise you to try them on in a store first to see what size you really need.
