So I got this as a recent Christmas gift and I must say it works beautifully holding my keys and other things that go on a key chain.

Pros:
- It’s got two sides so if one side fails, you can fall back to the other side
- Made of 3 components (the S-biner itself and the two “wire gates”); this is good because there are fewer parts involved for a lessened chance of mechanical problems
- Can open pretty much all your bottles (beer, cider, etc.)
- Well this model is particularly stained black, not painted (I like and it hasn’t scratched off over three months)

Con(s):
- Although the quality is quite good, the “wire gates” don’t retract fast enough so things could potentially break free from the carabiner (please read my recommendation(s)/suggestion(s) section)
- Wire gates (some might like it, but to me it doesn’t feel very strong/bold)
- Pricey (You MIGHT have a better chance finding it cheaper elsewhere)

Recommendation(s)/Suggestion(s):
- This S-biner is a bit big, I don’t recommend this to anyone who wears skin-tight jeans (hopefully that’s out of style by now; no offense, just wasn’t a fan of that style when it comes to dudes… but ladies on the other hand, by all means)
Anyhow, putting your keys with this S-biner into tight jeans will most likely cause the wire gates to open up causing things to slip off this S-biner (it has happened while I wore slim-fit so it should definitely happen with skinnies), now if you’re clipping this onto your belt loop on your pants, you won’t have this problem; however, if something comes loose from this S-biner, you won’t have your pocket to catch anything that does come off (my friend’s haven’t had a problem when they clipped it, but only time will tell; better safe than sorry though…)

- My way of fixing the weak-feeling/low-responsive wire gate problem:
(***NOTE: Only perform if you have a good understanding of the flexibility of metals and their tension limits; I cannot/will not be held responsible if your product breaks)
1st) Because the gates are a bit loose, gently wiggle and pull forward the gate away from the carabiner and allow it to pass the carabiner gate hook/catcher.
2nd) Pull forward the gate a little more away from the carabiner till you feel that the wired gate will stay at that position, then return the gate to it’s original position (behind the gate catcher/hook)
3rd) After returning the gate back to its original place behind the gate stopper/catcher, take a pair of needle nose pliers and LIGHTLY but FIRMLY squeeze the wire gate’s sides so that it pinches the carabiner better
4th) Now you have this product with a higher wire gate springy-ness and also less loose/wiggly

So after I have been using this for quite some time, I notice that this product will have things come off occasionally though I haven’t lost anything, yet. But beware that even though you may have used my suggestion about fixing the wire gate, things that you locked in this carabiner may still come off. After using this product, I have finally decided that this product really deserves a 4/5 stars instead of the 5/5 stars I originally gave it. While this product’s design idea is neat and cool, they should have used a better, stronger gate design.

Great for coolers

Finally someone came up with a good way to keep your bottle opener on your cooler with out losing it. I also us them as clips to clip together intertubes while floating on the lake.

So far, so good

I purchased this clip because I was in the market for a new carabiner / key chain, and because I am an avid craft beer drinker. So far I haven’t had any problems with the clip failing, or coming undone from my belt loop, and the bottle opener works very well. I find myself using the opening over my key ring opener due to its excellent leverage. So far, so good; I will update if any problems should arise. As for now, highly recommended.
